Oh the Humanity

Could it be that people around us are looking for joy, hope and peace? It has been my experience that they are.

Since moving to Florida to start a new type of church I have cleaned toilets, septic tanks and have now found a home delivering packages for Amazon. In the past four months I have met thousands of people of all ages, races, socio-economic and academic backgrounds. What I have experienced is exciting.

Watching the news or hanging out on social media would lead you to believe that hate and division rule the day. However, on the literal streets of America I have met people who want to smile, be kind and make a friend.

I have also met so many people who are spiritually curious. They are filled with questions and don’t know who to talk to to find any answers.

Yes, we are all broken and in need of a Savior but we also need a friend, hope, help and some good news. I look around and, Oh the humanity! What I see fills me with hope for our future.

If you don’t see it, turn off the news, put down your phone and take a walk, talk to your neighbors, take a co-worker out for coffee. God is on the move in America. He is calling people to himself. He is working to heal brokenness. He is working to restore relationships.

I am thrilled to be a small part of what He is doing.
